אתה יודע שהמתרגם עודד פלד כבר תרגם את “דמיין”? וגם אני בעניי תרגמתי את פתיחתו, במסגרת רשומה בבלוג שלי בנושא “אין גן עדן… אין גיהינום”: שכר ועונש במשנת הרמב”ם”.
בניגוד אליך ולעודד, בחרתי לתרגם את שם השיר בלשון רבים, כיוון שהוא פונה להמון ולאו דווקא לאדם יחיד.
הנה הקטע שתרגמתי:
“דמיינו שאין גן עדן – זה פשוט, אם רק תנסו;
אין גיהינום מתחתינו, וממעל יש רק שמיים;
דמיינו שכל האנשים חיים למען ההווה בלבד”.
